Darrell Teslia, beloved husband of Beverly and father of Jake Teslia of Buchanan, SK, passed away at the Yorkton Regional Health Centre on October 10th, 2012, at the age of 42 years. Darrell was born on December 9th, 1969, to John and Doris Teslia in Canora. As a young boy, he attended the Canora School and graduated in 1987. In 1987, he took welding through SIAST in Yorkton. Darrell moved to Saskatoon in 1988, and began working as a welder. On October 7th, 1990, he met Bev Shyngera, the love of his life, at a Vasloutz dance. Darrell and Bev moved to Morris, MB, in 1992, where he started work with Cargill. On July 24th, 1993, Darrell and Bev were united in marriage at St. Mary’s Ukrainian Catholic Church in Yorkton. In April of 1994, they relocated to Langbank, where Darrell continued to be employed by Cargill, working his way as a helper to becoming the manager. On April 5th, 1996, Darrell and Bev were blessed with the birth of their son Jacob, their pride and joy. Darrell received a top sales award in Minneapolis for his region in 2005. In 2007, Darrell and his family moved to Kipling, SK, where he began working as a manager for Louis Dreyfus. Four years later in 2011, the family moved to Buchanan, where Darrell began working for LDM Foods in Yorkton, SK. He enjoyed numerous pastimes including: hunting, fishing, golfing, but was especially a true and dedicated Saskatchewan Roughrider fan - “GO RIDERS!” Darrell will be dearly and sadly missed by all who knew him. He was predeceased by his maternal grandparents, Fred and Irene Badiuk and his paternal grandparents, Sam and Frances Teslia. Darrell is lovingly remembered by his wife, Bev; his son, Jake; his parents, John and Doris Teslia of Canora, SK; his brother Andy (Karen) Teslia of Bruderheim, AB; his sister Livia (Terry) Steininger of Weyburn, SK, and his brother Sam (Lisa) Teslia of Buchanan, SK, as well as many aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews and friends. The Prayer Service was held on Friday, October 12th, 2012, at 7:00 p.m. The Funeral Liturgy was celebrated on Saturday, October 13th, 2012, at 10:00 a.m., both held from the Sts. Peter and Paul Ukrainian Catholic Church, Canora, with Rev. Fr. Joakim Rac, Celebrant. Interment followed in the Canora Cemetery. Those wishing to make expressions of sympathy may make donations to the Sts. Peter and Paul Ukrainian Catholic Church Building Fund, in memory of Darrell.
