John Koops passed away peacefully at the Canora Hospital on December 4, 2013 at the age of 71 years. John was born on October 10, 1942, during the 2nd World War, to Lucas and Aleida Koops. In 1952, his parents immigrated to Canada with their six children: Gay, Ann, Herman, John, Irene and Alice. The family settled in the Burlington – Toronto, ON area. John went to school there and started work, but quickly became restless and began travelling, mostly in the USA. He returned to Canada in 1978 and in 1987, he met the love of his life, Adoracion. They were married and in 1989 they welcomed their son John Lucas “Jay” to their family. Adore already had two children, Ted and Cynthia, so John was blessed with children and later became a grandfather to Miles and Carly. In 1994, Adore had the opportunity to gain employment as a Registered Nurse in the USA, so John, Adore and Jay relocated to Texas where Adore worked diligently, nursing for many years. In 2009, Jay moved back to Canada to be near his brother and sister in Alberta and to complete his education. John and Adore moved to Buchanan, SK in the spring of 2012 and they quickly made many friends. Unfortunately, John’s health slowly deteriorated and he went to be with his heavenly Father. John was a kind and generous man and a wonderful husband to Adore. He will be missed by all who knew and loved him. John’s family is thankful for the many prayers and would like to express their appreciation to the Doctors and Staff at Canora Hospital for the excellent care John received. At John’s request, no formal services will be held.
